The
Seneca Nation is one of the "older brothers" of the Iroquois
Confederacy and are known as the "People of the Great Mountain"
and are "Keepers of the Western Door".
The Seneca's originally lived between the Genesee River and Canandaigua Lake in what is now, Western New York State. The Seneca's have eight clans, Turtle, Bear, Wolf, Snipe, Hawk, Heron, Beaver and Deer. The Seneca words are pronounced by Bill Crouse, Hawk Clan, Allegheny Seneca. |
